Founded in 2004 by former Sega Europe chairman, Frank Herman, Mastertronic Group resulted from a merger between The Producers and Sold Out Sales & Marketing. In 2003 Herman negotiated a sale of the name Mastertronic from his former employer, Sega. After Herman’s death in 2009 the company was run by MD Andy Payne.
Mastertronic Group was a publisher and distributor of PC and video game software under the labels of Sold Out, M.A.D., PC Gamer Presents, Everyone Can Play and Great Indie Games. They owned the digital distribution storefront GetGamesGo. On November 30th, 2015 Andy Payne announced that Mastertronic Group had entered Administration as the company fought to deal with debt.
