2020 right? It was a suck-ass year for the world but it was our site’s best year ever, again. The header image is all you really need to see – leaps and bounds and all that – but here’s some quick stats from the year that was:
677,841 Views – Up more than 1.5x over 2019
291,571 Visitors – More than double 2019
446 Posts Published – 344 Game Pages and 102 News Articles Posted
Over 1,200 Game Pages on the Site by Dec 31st, 2020
263 Reader Submissions – Thank You All for your Help and Support!
As for the most viewed games on the site, 2020 saw a pretty big shakeup. For the first year ever Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game wasn’t No.1, it came in between two much loved Bookworm releases. Electronic Arts, it’s your turn to step up, follow Ubisoft’s lead, and bring Bookworm back! Newcomers to the Top Five include Driver San Francisco thanks to Nick Robinson’s coverage of the game in 2019, and Ben 10 The Rise of Hex which is honestly a surprising appearance. Here’s the breakdown:
- Bookworm Adventures Deluxe – 13,536 views
- Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – 12,006 views
- Bookworm Deluxe – 9,261 views
- Ben 10 Alien Force The Rise of Hex – 3,408 views
- Driver San Francisco – 3,205 views
The site itself saw some big changes in 2020 as well. I closed down the forums which were only ever used by bots to post spam and try to brute force into the Admin panel. Good riddance to that. And in happier news, I redesigned the site in September and still love the look and flow of things. For the first time ever I’m even happy about how it looks on mobile. I hope you all agree and still find the site useful.
That’s about all I’ve got. There are no major plans or secret endeavors for 2021, I’m just hoping to add more and more games to the site. Thank you again for your support, submissions, views, and discussions in 2020 and every year!
P.S. For anyone interested in the long view, here are my year-end recaps for 2019, 2018, and 2017.
