Disc Jam loses online modes Sept 30th alongside other GameSparks powered titles

High Horse Entertainment tweeted on July 27th to announce that online modes for Disc Jam will be terminated on September 30th, 2022. The cause for the shutdown is due to GameSparks, the backend services provider who originally announced at GDC 2021 that their toolset would be retired for all games on September 30th.

At the time we noted other featured titles from the GameSparks catalog that might be affected but several of them have since been updated with other infrastructure solutions. Disc Jam, being an older title from a very small team, will unfortunately not be getting the same treatment.

Sadly, the day has finally come. Disc Jam’s online services will be shutting down on September 30th, 2022. Our backend provider (GameSparks) notified us they are terminating services which means we can no longer support online play. Single player and offline modes will remain functional of course.

We want to thank everyone for supporting our little game, and while we are closing the door on this individual release, this is not the end of Disc Jam.

We don’t have anything concrete to announce at this time, but we do have plans to expand on this game as well as make new entries in the series. Be sure to subscribe to our mailing list for any forthcoming Disc Jam news.

Thanks again Jammers!

High Horse Games Tweet – July 27, 2022

Although online modes will be lost, Disc Jam is expected to remain on sale as a single-player release. It’s currently available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation 4. Thanks to @Needles078 for pointing out the news. I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar for now.
