2D space-based Battle Royale, Final Pilot, shutting down in June

Clopas and GoLoco Media announced on May 15th that their free-to-play 2D spaceship-based battle royale title, Final Pilot, will be shutting down on June 5th. The announcement continues below:

It is with a heavy heart that I must inform you of the upcoming shutdown of Final Pilot. Despite our efforts to grow the playerbase and market Final Pilot, we were unable to build a successful playerbase that could support the cost of servers and continued development.

For those of you who really enjoyed the game, or even those who only briefly played… thank you. This was our first venture into the videogame industry as a company, and it’s clear that we made many mistakes along the way. All we can hope to do is learn from this experience and use that new knowledge to create a better product in the future.

For the sake of transparency, I will now discuss paid content. Final Pilot was always free to play, with open access to the servers available to anyone for free. We did have an in-game store with cosmetics purchasable with real money.

For anyone who would like a refund of their in-game purchases, please email [email protected] with the same email your account shares and we will happily refund your purchases.

We’ll be closing down the servers in 21 days on June 5th.

Thank you to everyone who supported us, we hope to see you again.

Thanks to Serrated-banner9 for the submission, I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and we’ll have a page up on the site later.
