An in-game announcement has been sent to players of Hardware: Rivals, Sony’s 2016 vehicular combat title, informing that the game will be shut down on December 8th. It has already been removed from the PlayStation Store so only existing owners will be able to continue playing. The brief announcement follows:
Combat drivers,
It is our duty to announce that Hardware: Rivals is going to be decommissioned in the near future. After five action packed years of rail-gunning, bombing and sending missiles into our friends and rivals, Hardware: Rivals will be retired from service. The last day of play will be December 8th 2021.
We hope you enjoy these last few months in the combat arena and we thank you for all your support over the years.
