Delisting

Throwback Entertainment announced on Steam on November 23rd, 2022 that their release of Judge Dredd 95 would be leaving Steam and “all digital platforms” on January 1st, 2023. In response, ZOOM Platform posted a more candid and forthcoming announcement of their own on December 7th, 2022. Both announcements continue below:

We regret to inform you that due to expiring licensing agreements, Judge Dredd 95 will be de-listed from all digital platforms on January 1st, 2023. Players who have purchased the game before this date will continue to have access to it through their libraries.

We would like to thank our partners at Rebellion for their support in making JD95 available again for players. We’d also like to extend our thanks to Judge Dredd fans around the world for their continued support.

Steam Announcement – November 23, 2022

Unfortunately, it appears Judge Dredd 95 will go the way of another Throwback Entertainment title, Alien Trilogy.

Judge Dredd 95 will be delisted at Midnight PST on New Year’s Eve. If you want it, make sure to buy before then.

It’s worth noting that we have still yet to be compensated, as contractually promised, by Throwback Entertainment for brokering the deal. We also find it completely disingenuous for Throwback to leave ZOOM Platform out of their Steam de-listing notice. That deal, and several others, would have never happened had it not been for myself, Bernie Stolar, and the entire ZOOM Platform team.

I first met the Kingsley brothers, in my late teens, a little over a decade ago. They were, and continue to be, incredibly kind and gave me one of my very first opportunities. Thanks to them, ZOOM Platform took part in re-releasing such classics as Aliens Vs. Predator: Gold Edition. The team and I will be forever grateful. I also very much enjoyed reading Jason’s recent NME article and highly recommend it.

ZOOM Announcement – December 07, 2022 [Archive]

Even as of the date of this writing in May of 2024, only half of Throwback Entertainment’s releases on ZOOM Platform remain available. In a seemingly similar case to their release of Alien Trilogy, it seems likely that Throwback Entertainment’s license to the source material — either the original Hollywood property or Probe Software’s 90’s era release — had expired leading to the delistings.

About the Game

In the 3rd millennium, Earth has become an uninhabitable wasteland. Humanity resides in huge Mega-Cities, where the traditional justice system has been replaced by a corps of Judges whose role combines those of police officer, judge, jury, and executioner.  The most celebrated and decorated Judge, Joseph Dredd, is dedicated to meting out justice wherever, and whenever he can. Help Dredd fight his way through the dark streets and alleys of the city, to apprehend the rogue Judge Rico, and to do final battle with the Dark Judges on Deadworld.
