While the gaming headlines are abuzz with the first sightings of Daedalic Entertainment’s The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, another pair of Tolkienian titles are making a newsworthy return, at least around these parts. Both LEGO The Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit returned to sale on Steam just over a week ago on April 24th.
Seemingly not a soul — not TT Games, not Warner Bros., not The Lego Group, and not even Daedalic, the current worldwide licensees of LotR — has said a word about the relistings but there they are, back again. Both games have been delisted before, most recently in January of 2019 when almost every version was taken offline.
Clearly there was some re-licensing behind the relistings and while they’ll only disappear again down the line, for now at least, they’re back. You can get either game on Steam while LEGO The Hobbit has also returned on PlayStation 4 so far. Thanks to HandMaskTar for pointing out the news!
