Today was set to see the final update on the Xbox 360 price reductions before the Marketplace shuts down in less than two weeks. But for those of us who have been paying attention the only news is, umm, Xbox 360 merch. To be fair, the Activision titles that TrueAchievements spotted three weeks ago are now officially on the list but with no other unexpected or exciting additions the day does feel a little underwhelming. Still, there are a couple of surprises today, namely that Microsoft is bringing back some old Xbox 360 merch.
The Xbox Gear Shop is bringing back the Xbox 360 Heritage Collection for a limited time, celebrating those amazing Xbox 360 games! Starting today, you can snag some nostalgic gear, including an Xbox 360 Heritage Tee, Xbox 360 Heritage Pullover Hoodie, Xbox 360 Heritage Vortex Hoodie, and more.
Xbox Wire Announcement – July 16, 2024
Yeesh. That reads a little tossed-off to me but their second surprise makes up for it: a free ‘Blades’ dynamic background for current Xbox consoles. I haven’t seen it in action yet but I love that they offered up something novel (and free) as a farewell. Unless there’s a major correction forthcoming the updated post puts it pretty clearly that this is the end of things, stating that “this is expected to be the last time we will be updating this list”.
I’ve updated the table below to reflect all the recent changes that Microsoft has made, noting the titles no longer on sale and adding the Activision games. Good luck grabbing what you can everybody.
