The PlayStation 2 is a console video game platform created by Sony Interactive Entertainment and the follow-up to the original 32-bit PlayStation. Released in Japan, North America, Europe and Australia in 2000 it was unequivocally the lead platform for its generation and remains one of the best selling home game consoles to date. Relating to Delisted, later in its life cycle an array of games took advantage of the optional modem peripheral to bring online multiplayer and other social features to the console.
