The team behind Mistover at KRAFTON announced on May 29, 2022 that the game would be removed from sale on June 30th. Despite some concerns over the wording that the “service will be closing” — suggesting some functionality may be removed from the game — the announcement confirms that anyone who has purchased Mistover will continue to be able to download and play it after the deadline.
Hello, this is Aimo speaking.
To everyone who has shown their love and support for Mistover, we regretfully inform you with a heavy heart that the service will be closing as our journey comes to an end. We first launched Mistover on October 10th, 2019, and we made the difficult decision to close the service for this much-loved game effective June 30th, 2022. We are deeply grateful to everyone who has used our services and would like to ask for your generous understanding.
■ Service Termination Notice
1. Service Termination Date: June 30th, 2022 (KST) [11:00am EST]
2. Platforms where the game will no longer be available:
– Nintendo Switch
※ Even after the game no longer becomes available, customers who have already purchased the game will be able to download it.
Once again, we extend our deep gratitude to all the fans of Mistover for their love and support.
Thank you.May 29th Announcement
Mistover was removed from most platforms on the announced date, but remained available on Nintendo Switch in North America and Europe until July 7, 2022.
The decision to remove the game is a bit of a mystery but may have been related to expired licensing with Arc System Works regarding the game’s Guilty Gear DLC. With KRAFTON also shutting down the PC version of the long running MMO, TERA, it could also be that the company is scaling back on its offerings. Mistover remains available on physical media in Asian territories for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
