Mario Maker-like, Million to One Hero, shutting down on October 1st

Over the Top Games announced on May 7th that Million to One Hero will be shutting down this Fall on October 1st. Appearing to be just another 2D platformer on Steam, the game is closer to Nintendo’s Super Mario Maker, allowing players to create, share, and challenge each other with user created levels and stories. As such, everything is server-based and with a small number of active players it appears there wasn’t enough profit for the team to continue funding the servers. The official announcement follows:

It is with great sadness that we must announce the shutdown of Million to One Hero servers on October 1st, 2023. Despite our best efforts, the game was unable to reach the player mass needed to sustain its servers. After this date, the game will not be on sale anymore, and the game won’t be playable.

We understand how much this game meant to you, and we want to thank you for your dedication and support. There were some amazing speedruns and community created levels for the past years. We hope that you have enjoyed playing the game as much as we have enjoyed creating it.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and encourage you to make the most of the remaining time before the servers shut down. Thank you again for being a part of our community

Sincerely,

Over the Top Games
