Japanese publisher PMANG announced back on January 17th that their release of Lost Ark, Smilegate’s free-to-play MMO from 2019, will be shutting down in that territory on March 20th. By the end of January all in-game purchases had been concluded and their internet cafe service was ended. You can check out the schedule and a brief FAQ for current players at this page.

Outside of Japan Lost Ark seems to be humming along with recent anniversary events and monthly updates in North America and Europe where it’s published on Steam by Amazon Games. The original Korean version also seems to be alive and well with a 2024 roadmap laying out upcoming content.
