With Nintendo recently confirming that the eShop for 3DS and Wii U will officially close next year on March 28th, 2023, we can expect more announcements like this one. The Karaoke JOYSOUND for Wii U service will shut down in Japan on June 30th after users lose the ability to make purchases on the console.
Thank you for your continued patronage of our products. The Wii U software “Karaoke JOYSOUND for Wii U”, which has been available since December 8, 2012, will be gradually terminated on the following schedule.

Karaoke JOYSOUND has been a staple at-home karaoke service in Japan for years with current entries on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 3, 4, and Vita. The service is also available in Japan on PC, mobile, and even smart TV apps. For now I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar.
