HyperBrawl Tournament shutting down, removed from sale September 30th

Milky Tea Studios announced recently that HyperBrawl Tournament from 2020 will be shut down and removed from sale in just a few weeks on September 30th. So far the announcement has only been made on two storefront pages for the game — PlayStation Store (EU) and Nintendo.com (NA) — but the change is expected to affect all versions of the game at the end of the month. That includes Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. HyperBrawl was first launched on Apple Arcade in 2019 and of all the releases it seems most likely (although not certain) to remain available there. The team’s announcement follows:

We have made the difficult decision to remove HyperBrawl Tournament from sale on this platform on 30th September 2022. For existing players, online services will no longer function as of 30th September 2022. If you bought the game digitally it will remain in your library but will not function as intended. Functionality will be lost as follows:

– While ‘online’ (connected to the internet) players will be unable to access the game.

– While ‘offline’ (disconnected from the internet) players will be able to play all offline games modes i.e. Campaign and Arcade modes but players will not be able to earn or unlock any content or level up.

We are extremely grateful to our community for joining us on our journey and thank you for your support.

Milky Tea Announcement

This will leave Coffin Dodgers as Milky Tea’s only console and PC title available to buy. The studio’s debut game, Roller Rally, was previously removed from sale on Android and iOS. Thanks to Wakayama_PT for pointing out the news. I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and will have a page up on the site later.
