Going above and beyond Nintendo’s own admission that online services for Wii U and 3DS titles will be ending in April of 2024, Capcom recently published a full breakdown of the features and titles in their own games that will be impacted. As they suggest: prepare accordingly.
As Nintendo recently announced, online services (online play and other functionality that makes use of online communication) for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U will come to an end in early April, 2024. Once in effect, it will no longer be possible to receive free downloadable content for Monster Hunter on the aforementioned systems, or make use of other features that require online connectivity for Capcom titles.

- Please note that after online services come to an end, it will not be possible to redownload free downloadable content for the titles above. However, any free or paid downloadable content that has been downloaded prior to the end of service will remain usable offline.
- Multiplayer via Local Play will remain usable even after online services come to an end.
- As the 3DS Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Data Transfer Program connects directly to a Wii U console via local communication, it will remain usable even after online services come to an end.
- Online multiplayer services for the 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate were not available on the 3DS, and instead were only accessible via a connection to a Wii U console that had the Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Packet Relay Tools downloaded on it.
