Delisting
ArmaGallant: Decks of Destiny was plagued by server and matchmaking issues from its launch on PlayStation 4 in 2017. Infrastructure for the game appears to have been officially supported until at least the Spring of 2019 when the game was last on a discount sale. However, as far back as January of 2018 the developers seemed to distance themselves from the PS4 version, referring to it in the past tense while talking about their adjacent Steam release, Deck Casters. A post at GameFAQs also suggested that the servers were offline, possibly temporarily, as early as June of 2018.
Although not managed by the game’s team, the Facebook group ArmaGallant: Decks of Destiny Official USA League, was reportedly in contact with the developers early on and have provided the closest to a credible account of their statements. Recounting the events in 2022 the group’s manager mentioned that an official announcement was posted to the game’s Facebook page stating that servers would be shut down in a week only for the plug to be pulled in the following days.
Unfortunately, we could find no link to this post and the group manager didn’t specify exactly when this happened. However, the game’s Facebook page was last updated in October of 2018 to confirm their association with the Official USA League group so it would likely have happened after this time. Two relevant posts from the Official USA League group manager follow:
Hey everybody I’m going to give you all an update on the progress of trying to get ahold of the development team… I’ve sent a couple messages and emails…
According to multiple people that I’ve talked to The servers were shut down as a temporary measure to cut costs… Sony was charging a very large amount of money to keep the PS4 servers up and running… Even I cannot log into the game to play it currently and I was told there looking into a way to work around that but it might be a little bit of time before a patch is done
Hey everybody that has added this page although it’s greatly appreciated I wanted to give everybody an update of what’s been not going on…
So about a year ago I contacted the developer asking whether or not the game was going to be brought back to playstation and they explained to me that they were waiting on getting finances together in order to get the servers back online because they were according to them too expensive to keep maintaining…
The servers were turned on for about a month or so and I suggested to them that they put the game on playstation plus as a free game and that could generate revenue and interest in the game but unfortunately they felt otherwise and decided to make the game an E sports game…
When I told them they need to broaden the horizon a little bit other than E sport… They stopped reading my messages and replying to my emails… Then shortly after this they shut down all the servers for playstation… No one was informed until the day before when they had posted a Facebook message stating the servers would be shut down in a week… 2 days later they were shut down according to all the reports that I’ve gotten… After that happened I reached out again asking if the servers would be brought back online and got no reply…. From their camp it’s been completely dark…
It is unclear by their account when the “month or so” that the servers were turned back on might have taken place. Discussions and trophy tracking data on TrueTrophies and PSNProfiles shows players were still unlocking Trophies in the game in 2019 and as recently as 2021 (possibly even into 2023). If the team were periodically enabling the servers they were not going out of their way to communicate it. The game’s Twitter account hasn’t been touched since 2017 and the Facebook page not since 2019. ArmaGallant.com, home to both Decks of Destiny and Deck Casters, was also abandoned in 2019.
Without better communication some of the claims made by the team can be read as a little dubious. But in their defense, there are also reports of team members reachingout to PlayStation owners offering codes for Deck Casters on Steam as compensation for the downtime and ongoing issues. Yet again though, this outreach seems to have been one-off and not well communicated.
About the Game

Learn and evolve the abilities of electrifying creatures and magical spells, forming powerful decks to unleash upon your enemies. You devise your desired game plan.
