Delisting

AeternoBlade II was delisted from the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Australian and European territories around the last week of August of 2022. AeternoBlade developer Corecell made a statement on Twitter on September 1st explaining their disagreement and apparent stalemate with publisher PQube. More details were provided in a follow-up tweet on September 2nd.

Corecell initially alleged that PQube had not provided a “minimum guaranteed” payment to  the studio for sales of the game, and further, had not fully returned publishing rights to the title to Corecell. As part of their attempt to regain control of the title, Corecell requested that Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony remove the game from their digital stores until publishing rights were sorted.

However, it appears only the European divisions of Nintendo and Sony responded to the request and removed the game from sale on their platforms across the territory. AeternoBlade II was later relisted on PlayStation 4 between September and December of 2022 with Corecell now listed as the publisher. PQube remains listed as the publisher of the Xbox One versions of the game worldwide.

Corecell then announced on February 9th, 2023 that they had regained full publishing control of AeternoBlade II in Europe. Shortly before this announcement the game returned to sale on the Nintendo Switch eShop across Europe, reappearing as early as January 1st.

We are happy to announce that we received our publishing control on the console platform of AeternoBlade II in Europe (Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One) back from PQube.

Corecell Technology is now the sole publisher of AeternoBlade II in all platforms. The next update will be released simultaneously for all regions. We are thankful for all the support that you gave us, and we will continue to work on our game to fix bugs and release new content for AeternoBlade II to make sure everyone has fun and are satisfied with our game.
