There’s something strange in our neighborhood with the surprise announcement today of Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered. The 2009 title starring the original motion picture cast was delisted from Steam in 2017 but this news doesn’t mean that its resurrection is at hand.
While the initial announcement was made on the PlayStation Blog by Saber Interactive’s Matt McKnight, Dark Side of Gaming reportedly has confirmation that the remaster will also be coming to PC… as another Epic Game Store exclusive. It may one day make its way to Steam but a relisting of the original version seems unlikely.
Meanwhile, the original game was never delisted from the Xbox 360 and as of today you can still buy and download it. With the remaster on its way however, this original version may finally be removed from sale as well.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game Remastered is currently expected later this year on PlayStation 4 with the PC release likely close by. No word yet on an Xbox One or Nintendo Switch iteration though.
