Initially discovered on the game’s Steam Store page earlier today, notices have since been identified announcing the delisting of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection in Japan for all platforms. Konami has given no explanation so far but we can at least confirm that the game will be removed from sale on March 29th in the region on PlayStation 4 and 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and Series X|S, as well as on Steam.
The full game of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Cowabunga Collection” will be discontinued in Japan on the following date: Friday, March 29, 2024 at 0:00 (JST)
Online play will remain available after the end of sales. Also, purchased copies of the full game will be available for re-download from the Steam Store.
Steam Store Announcement – March 13, 2024
The announcement on the game’s console pages (Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox) is uniformly vague but definitive, sharing the same date and information about the ability to re-download and even continue to play online after March 29th. It’s especially confusing given that the extensive TMNT collection was released not even two years ago, and worrying that no confirmation was given that it will remain available in other territories.
We’ll be back to update when/if any further explanation or confirmation is given.
