Delisting
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was delisted on Steam (as DLC) on May 31st, 2024 and likely on the Meta/Oculus platform on or near the same date. Developer The Astronauts announced the upcoming delisting on Steam just a few days earlier on May 27th, 2024.
On Friday (31.05.2024), we will be removing the option to buy the VR version of Vanishing of Ethan Carter for new players. If you already own the title, nothing is changing, and you can still access it as before.
This decision was made because we can no longer support this version of the game, so we cannot guarantee it will work with new VR headsets and OSes.

As of June 3rd, 2024 the direct link to the game’s Meta/Oculus page remained available with the option to buy but it could not be found by searching the site. The non-VR versions of the game remain on sale everywhere they were released as of this writing including Steam, GOG.com, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
About the Game
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a first-person story-driven mystery focused on exploration and discovery. Occult-minded private detective Paul Prospero communicates with the dead to discover the fate of a missing boy and the mystery behind a dark ancient force inhabiting Red Creek Valley.
