Delisting

The Great C was most likely delisted from the Oculus store no later than February 18th, 2023, based on the removals of Blasters of the Universe and Transpose around that time.

Secret Location announced on April 12th, 2023 that all their published Steam titles would “no longer be available to purchase after May 2023.” Blasters of the Universe, The Great C, and Transpose would be delisted on May 31st in the wake of Secret Location’s closure.

The parent company mentioned in the studio’s announcement is Entertainment One (eOne), a long-standing media and entertainment company that was acquired by Hasbro in December of 2019. Starting in 2022 Hasbro began consolidating and selling off eOne assets and studios, most of which were related to television and film properties. As one of eOne’s only attempts to get into gaming, Secret Location is likely being shut down rather than sold off resulting in the delisting of all of its titles.

About the Game

Based on the sci-fi short story by Philip K. Dick, The Great C is a cinematic narrative set in the aftermath of an apocalyptic event. Featuring a thrilling storyline, stunning environments and a powerful soundtrack, the viewer is transported to a desolate landscape in which the remnants of humanity are ruled by an all-powerful supercomputer known as the Great C. Each year, the nearby village is forced to send a young person on a pilgrimage to appease the mysterious machine, a journey from which no one ever returns.

The Great C follows Clare, a young woman who finds her life upended when her fiancé is summoned for this year’s pilgrimage. Leaving the safe confines of her village, Clare must decide whether to accept the rules of her harsh society or fight against the oppressive powers that created it.

The Great C is a sweeping 30+ minute experience, developed from the ground up to push the boundaries of storytelling in VR.
