Raiden IV: OverKill leaving Steam and GOG on July 26th [UPDATE]

[UPDATE 07/30/22] It isn’t official but it appears Raiden IV: OverKill was delisted on PC ahead of an “early 2023” release of Raiden IV x MIKADO remix. The remix edition has been out on consoles in Japan, and worldwide on Switch, since 2021. With the upcoming PC port being handled by NIS America it seems the older versions of OverKill from H2 Interactive had to be removed from sale.

The MIKADO remix is also coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series consoles digitally and in a limited edition retail package in “Spring 2023”. Our original post from July 23rd continues below.

H2 Interactive announced recently that their publishing deal with Moss and UFO Interactive had expired and as a result Raiden IV: OverKill will soon be removed from sale on Steam and GOG.com. The 2015 arcade shooter isn’t the latest in the long-running series but it did turn out to be a well-received entry compared to its successor, Raiden V. The digital PlayStation 3 release of Raiden IV appears to be safe for now as it was published by UFO Interactive themselves.

With our publishing deal expired, we will be selling the game until July 26, 2022. Existing owners who have purchased Raiden IV: OverKill before the expiration date will be able to play the game permanently. Thank you so much for your interest in Raiden IV: OverKill.

Steam Store Announcement

Due to licensing rights we’d like to inform you that Raiden IV: OverKill will be delisted from our catalog on Tuesday, July 26th, 1 PM UTC. For everyone who purchased the title prior to delisting, it will remain in their GOG library.

GOG.com Announcement

H2 Interactive is also the digital publisher of Raiden III on Steam and GOG.com but that entry appears to be sticking around; no announcement about the older title’s delisting has been made as of this post. PlayStation 3 owners are out of luck there however, the PS2 Classics release of Raiden III was delisted as far back as 2014.

Thanks to @MrFortyFive for pointing out the news. I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and will have a page up on the site later.
