Delisting

ClassiCube was delisted on Steam on March 8th, 2023. The official explanation can be found on the game’s Discord server which offers the following response to the question “what happened to the Steam release?”:

We delisted it. To prevent any further legality questions regarding selling our client, and to appease the infinitely wealthy corporations that don’t care what we say, the client has been delisted from Steam. Listing our game on Steam was simply a Patreon goal reward and effectively just another way to support ClassiCube. However, if you would still like to support us, you can still support us on Patreon and Itch.io And NO, we will not give out any Steam keys for the game.

Discord Server FAQ – April 28, 2024

Previous to the FAQ channel on the Discord server, ClassiCube creator AndrewPH reiterated their decision in a chat message in 2023 stating “Mojang was snooping around and didn’t like the similarity of the game to theirs considering it was being sold on steam, I delisted it because it wasnt a hill I wanted to die on”.

ClassiCube remains available on itch.io and can also be played in a web browser on the game’s homepage.
