In-Game message reveals that The Elder Scrolls: Legends will shut down on January 30th

A new in-game announcement began appearing earlier this week for players of The Elder Scrolls: Legends confirming that the game will be permanently shut down on January 30th, 2025. Although Bethesda has yet to make an official statement outside of the game, the free-to-play deck builder was also removed from Steam yesterday on November 1st. The iOS and Android versions also appear to be unobtainable from their respective app stores as well. The in-game announcement as relayed on the Steam forums by user Samantha Says follows.

An Update to The Elder Scrolls: Legends

The Elder Scrolls: Legends servers will permanently shut down on January 30, 2025. From now until January 30, 2025, all items in the store and entry into in-game events will be available for 1 gold each, so you can enjoy all the content Legends has to offer. On that date, servers will be shut down and the game will be inaccessible. Thank you for playing and we hope you enjoyed your time in Legends.

Reported In-Game Announcement – November 01, 2024

Back in 2019 Bethesda announced that all development of the game had ceased but that Legends would remain playable for all. After Friday however, the game only remains playable for the next three months to those who had previously downloaded it. Thanks to the anonymous reader who submitted the news to the site, we’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and will have a page up on the site later.
