“Taiko no Tatsujin: Drum ‘n’ Fun!” for Nintendo Switch*Additional content (DLCs) will continue to be available for purchase and use even after sales for the main game is discontinued.
Taiko no Tatsujin Tweet – November 06, 2023
*Players will still be able to redownload purchased DLCs it after the end of sales.
This will leave 2022’s Rhythm Festival release as the only mainline Taiko title on the Switch. The Rhythmic Adventure titles are also still available though they differ slightly being ports from the 3DS with gameplay focused on a battle-based story mode over the traditional arcade style of Rhythm Festival.
The reason for the delisting isn’t clear although Namco may simply be trying to move players over to Rhythm Festival which features more modes, online functionality, and a monthly subscription to access additional content. For the time being Drum ‘n’ Fun’s DLC will remain on sale and the base game can still be purchased on physical media.
Thanks to Juney Zimpelman and our own SpikeTheDragon for pointing out the news. I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and we’ll have a page up on the site later.
