GOG.com announced in their community forums earlier this morning that The Westport Independent will be removed from their storefront on Sunday, January 8th at 3 PM UTC (10am EST). The game is also available on Steam where it has been free-to-play since January of 2021 when publishing rights changed hands from Coffee Stain Studios to Westport‘s developer, Double Zero One Zero.
The GOG.com version still shows Coffee Stain Studios as the publisher as well as the publisher of A Story About My Uncle on that platform. It is uncertain at this time if The Westport Independent will also be removed from Steam or if A Story About My Uncle will be leaving GOG.com.
