Delisting
Rockstar Games announced on October 8th, 2021 that a 20th Anniversary Grand Theft Auto trilogy was on the way and that they would begin removing existing versions of the first three 3D titles (GTA 3, Vice City, and San Andreas) from digital stores starting the week of October 11th, 2021. While most versions were delisted in this timeframe, the PlayStation 3 releases remained available.
After the disastrous launch and brief delisting of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on November 11th, 2021, Rockstar Games issued an apology for the poor performance of the title and promised support going forward. The company also confirmed that the original PC versions of the three titles would be coming back to the Rockstar Store in a new bundle “shortly”. Owners who purchased the Definitive Edition on the Rockstar Games Launcher between November 11th, 2021 and June 30th, 2022 were promised to receive these original PC versions for free.
