The long sought after physical edition of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game is finally coming! Limited Run Games has announced that pre-orders for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch releases, as well as an array of merchandise, will open on January 15th (10am EST) and close on February 28th (11:59pm EST). The game alone is priced at $34.99 with a “Classic Edition” package offering extra goodies at $54.99, and a ridiculous “K.O. Edition” at $139.99 that packs even more stuff into a light-and-sound, pop-up Roadie case. Merchandise includes hoodies, enamel pins, a Switch travel case, and trading cards.
Limited Run Games has also announced that a physical Xbox One release is planned for the future and that there’s a chance you might find the PlayStation 4 and Switch releases on store shelves at Best Buy. A note on the standard editions says that, “Best Buy may be receiving a very small number of copies of this game with alternate cover art. Best Buy has the ability to not move forward with their order, as it has not been finalized yet. Wait at your own risk”.
I’ll be securing myself a copy of the Classic Edition through their site but I think it’s fantastic that at least some retail locations could see Scott Pilgrim finally sitting on a store shelf. For anyone who misses the window or is happy with a digital copy, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition will be available digitally on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC (only UPlay+ so far), and Google Stadia on January 14th. You can read more about the updated game in our previous post.
