We are Delisted Games. You may know us as the town criers of video game disappearances or you may not, so here’s a quick introduction: We research, catalog, and inform about today’s digital gaming landscape (hellscape) including store delistings, online service shutdowns and, simply put, cultural erasure.
After some tinkering around with the website we have decided to remove the ad banners located in articles and on game pages. This is to help speed up loading and response times on every part of the site and to hopefully give you a smoother and less distracting experience. That goes for ourselves as well.
But in order to abandon the ad revenue we now have to rely on your generosity more than ever. The cost for the majority of the site’s operation was covered by that ad revenue and the difference will once again be coming out of the founders’ pockets. This covers annual server costs, domain hosting and security renewals, and several third-party plugins.
You can contribute via our Patreon or Ko-fi pages and any amount is greatly appreciated no matter how small! Even just one $ / £ / € / ¥ / Rupee / Bottle cap / Bolt / Gil — whatever amount you can offer — will add up and help to continue our mission. You don’t have to pledge monthly either, just use Ko-fi if you want to give us a single tip or throw in whatever you see fit. And as always, all contributions go solely towards maintaining our site and keeping it online.
You may wonder then, “what do I get in return?“. Well, to put it bluntly, none of us are any good at managing social media or crowdfunding campaigns. Most of the typical supporter rewards also seem a bit out of place for Delisted Games. But we’ve updated both Patreon and Ko-fi with new membership tiers and with your feedback we’re looking to eventually offer some bonuses in return.
For now all that we can promise is that your contributions will enable us to keep working — cataloging and reporting on the comings and goings of digital games — and to maintain the information and resources already on the site.
Even if you can’t or don’t want to contribute financially — which is completely fair and understandable, by the way — you can support us by following our social media accounts and sharing our posts to spread the news on delistings and what we do. Follow along on:
- Twitter / X
- YouTube and Twitch (sorry, they’re fairly dormant right now)
- Bluesky and Threads accounts possibly coming soon
Thank you for your support in helping us document our modern digital gaming landscape in whichever way you can!
