Delisting
Star Ghost was delisted from the Nintendo Switch eShop worldwide on February 1st, 2021, according to pricing data from Deku Deals. The game was most likely removed on Wii U in Europe around this time. The North American Wii U version remained available for a time; it was last confirmed available in February 2022 based on a submission to the site but at the latest was removed when the Nintendo Wii U eShop closed down on March 27, 2023.
Delisted Games reader Gabriel V. emailed developer Squarehead Studios for comment on the delisting. In response, Squarehead replied:
Thanks for your email and interest in Star Ghost. Star Ghost was removed from the Switch’s eshop because it wasn’t popular enough to warrant further support (unfortunately, as you have correctly guessed, releasing / re-releasing on a console platform is a non-trivial amount of work).
