Over 60 Sega Genesis and Dreamcast titles to be delisted on December 6th

Sega dropped a bombshell of delisting news yesterday afternoon announcing that over 60 Dreamcast and Genesis/Mega Drive titles will be removed from Steam, the Nintendo eShop, the PlayStation Store, and the Xbox marketplace at 11:59pm on December 6th.

We’ve got some news to share regarding our Classics bundles. As of December 6th, 2024 we’ll be saying farewell to new purchases of the SEGA Mega Drive and Genesis Classics & Dreamcast Classics. Both of these great bundles and select individual games will be delisted on Steam December 6th.

No worries if you already own a game or bundle. These gems will still live in your Steam library. You can download and play SEGA Classics games whenever you want, as long as you own them before December 6th.

Steam Announcement – November 06, 2024

The linked support page lists the games below detailing the individual titles on Steam and Xbox that will be delisted. Only the SEGA Genesis Classics collection was available on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. As usual, existing owners will be able to continue downloading and playing the games on all platforms. Sega did make a brief mention that “select individual titles” will remain available to Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, suggesting that some games will even be leaving that service. Sega hasn’t announced any new compilations yet but something is probably in the works. At this point I can only hope that it’s a new bundle or a for-purchase offering but I can’t stop thinking it’s going to be yet another subscription-based service. That’s just my own guess/worst fear though. For now, grab what you want while you can. Thanks to everyone who pointed out the news, we’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar (that I’m still trying to fix).
