Delisting
In early-August of 2014, Nickelodeon updated the Monkey Quest homepage to announce that the game would shut down on September 26th, 2014. In their closing page, the Monkey Quest team provided a short notice regarding the end of in-game purchases:
From now until September 26th, 2014, ALL monkeys can enjoy unlimited member access to Monkey Quest. Thanks for your loyalty, awesomeness, and heroic efforts in Ook!
What you need to know
Access
- You will still be able to access your account and play the game until September 26th, 2014.
- All accounts now have full member access to the game until closing on September 26th, 2014.
- All giveaway codes can still be redeemed here until September 26th, 2014.
- If you don’t have a Monkey Quest membership, there’s no need to cancel your free account.
Membership
- Monkey Quest membership is no longer available for purchase as of July 30th, 2014.
- As of July 30th, 2014, paid member accounts will no longer be charged the recurring payment for Monkey Quest.

- If you have questions regarding your billing or membership, please contact us.
NickCash
- Monkeys with NC balances will still be able to spend their NC in Monkey Quest until the closure. You can also continue spending your NC in Neopets.
- Purchasing NickCash will no longer be available as of July 30th, 2014.

After Monkey Quest’s closure on September 26th, a new FAQ was published on the game’s splash page. In an answer as to why the game closed, Nickelodeon cited a “shifting focus towards other digital and mobile experiences.”
