Delisting
The Magic Obelisk was delisted from the Nintendo Wii Shop Channel in August of 2011, according to reporting from IGN. When asked for comment on the game’s delisting, Game Arts stated:
“Thank you for contacting us in regard to The Magic Obelisk. Unfortunately, the product you inquired about is no longer available at the Wii Shop Channel, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience. We appreciate your interest in our product, and we hope our upcoming products will bring you enjoyment and satisfaction.”
– Game Arts
The reason for the delisting is unknown, but may have been related to Game Arts’ standing as an active WiiWare developer/publisher.
About the Game
What awaits at the end of the journey…?
The Magic Obelisk is an action-adventure game in which you become Popo, a light spirit, and your mission is to guide Lukus, a tree spirit, to each stage’s goal while moving only within the shadow.
You can help him do this by shining your light near the mysterious magic obelisks, allowing you to create and connect shadows to solve tricks and gimmicks along the way to each goal.
Join Lukus as he travels through a light-filled realm with quirky creatures and spirits, trying to find the own perfect spot to become a tree to help someone special to fulfill his dream.
Experiencing meaningful encounters and partings, climb up hills, cross rivers, and traverse a vast desert, on your way to the very edge of the world!
