Delisting

The Godfather and The Godfather II were both delisted on Steam on November 26th, 2014. The cause for the delisting appears to be related to licensing of the Godfather property from Paramount Pictures. While Electronic Arts did remove most of its titles from Steam in favor of their own Origin platform, these delistings largely happened in 2012, years prior to the Godfather delistings. Furthermore, neither of the Godfather titles were released for sale on Origin. However, as recently as March of 2021 CD keys included in retail copies of The Godfather II could be redeemed through the Origin platform to download a digital copy of the game. It does not appear that the same method works for CD keys included with The Godfather.

About the Game

You can move up the ranks of the Corleone crime family in The Godfather. In the game based on the book and movie, you go from humble beginnings of petty crime and rise to be the most powerful crime lord in all of New York. The Godfather features customizable characters and a persistent gameworld, where your decisions affect how other characters interact with you. Marlon Brando, James Caan, and Robert Duvall return to the franchise to voice characters in the game as well.
