Mystery P.I.: Kieta Film is another Japan exclusive 3DS title leaving the eShop soon

Another tip from the Japanese 3DS eShop this week points out that Mystery P.I.: Kieta Film will be leaving the store on April 27th at 10:00 JST (9pm EST on 4/26). The hidden object series, originally owned by PopCap and now a part of Electronic Arts, saw its heyday in the late aughts primarily on PC. Kieta Film is one of only two handheld adaptations of the series and the only one released digitally.

Based on Mystery P.I. – Lost in Los Angeles, it’s a mystery in itself how G-mode came to publish this heavily reworked handheld version exclusively in Japan. It seems fairly certain that expired licensing between G-mode and PopCap is the cause for the delisting given the changes that PopCap has been through since this game was released in 2011.

I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and will have a page up on the site later. Thanks again to @StarlacUK for pointing out the announcement.
