Madden 17, NFL Blitz lose online features December 7th

Madden 17, NFL Blitz lose online features December 7th

Electronic Arts’ support team made a post back on September 7th to announce the end of online services for another pair of older NFL titles. Both Madden 17 and NFL Blitz will be losing online features in just over two months, on December 7th.

Thank you for your loyalty and passion for Madden NFL over the years. As of December 7th, 2021, the online services and support for the following Madden Titles will be retired:

– Madden NFL 17
– Madden NFL Blitz

After this date, you’ll still be able to play offline modes on PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. For further information, please check out help.ea.com.

The Madden Team

Madden 17 is clearly the 2016 release in the flagship series but I had to look up NFL Blitz. It was quite a bit older, a digital-only arcade-style title for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 released in 2012 and capitalizing on Midway’s even older ‘NFL Blitz’ style. Unfortunately, it looks like the game may have just been delisted a couple of weeks ago, possibly alongside this announcement. Only existing owners can attempt to play the game online until December.

Thanks to Wakayama_PT for submitting the news, I’ve also added the date to the Watch List calendar.
