Delisting
The Hawken Team announced on their official Facebook, Steam and community forum pages on October 2nd, 2017 that the Steam version of Hawken would be removed on January 2nd, 2018. At the time, no information was given regarding the future of the console versions of the game whose DLC and microtransaction content remained on sale. The Hawken team’s full statement follows:
Pilots,
It’s been an incredible journey since the introduction of Hawken on Steam, back in 2014. The game’s success has been largely due to your continuous support. The Hawken community has been the cornerstone of this ever-evolving franchise.After 3 great years, we are shutting down the PC Steam servers to refocus our development efforts. The PC game will officially be removed on January 2, 2018, and all DLC and purchasable content will also be unavailable starting today.
It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience working alongside such a dedicated PC player base. Your feedback and support has been invaluable to us, and the team looks forward to creating more great games based on what we’ve learned from you.

The Hawken Team
The reason for shutting down the game is likely due to consistently low player counts. According to chart data from SteamDB, there have been just over 100 daily players in the game since the beginning of 2017. Going by those same charts, active daily players had been on the decline as far back as Spring 2015. Fewer players means fewer in-game transactions and the profits likely couldn’t cover the costs to maintain the game and support staff.
