Delisting
Duel Princess was delisted on Nintendo Switch in Japan by January 26th, 2022. The European and North American versions were then removed from sale no later than January 28th. Developer and publisher qureate tweeted on January 26th to announce the game’s removal for “various circumstances” but seemed hopeful that the game would return in the future. The studio tweeted the same sentiment again on March 30th but nearly one year later, as of January 28th, 2023, no version of the game has returned to sale on the Nintendo Switch.
Early in February of 2022 Duel Princess was released to several Japanese PC game sites (DMM, DLsite) and was even released on itch.io with the help of publisher MediBang. As of this writing the game remains available on these platforms. Qureate has not detailed the “various circumstances” behind the game’s delisting on Nintendo Switch but it is most likely related to the adult-themed content featured in portions of the gameplay.
