Delisting
Nyu Media announced on June 15th, 2022 that they were winding down their publishing operations through the end of that year. Fortunately, publishing rights were transferred to the developers of many titles that Nyu Media handled but a few would end up being delisted. Cherry Tree High Comedy Club and Cherry Tree High I! My! Girls! were two others.
As 2022 drew to a close and Nyu Media was unable to get in touch with eXceed developer Flat Software/Tennen-sozai, they announced on December 22nd, 2022 that the three titles (eXceed – Gun Bullet Children, eXceed 2nd – Vampire REX, eXceed 3rd – Jade Penetrate Black Package, and the eXceed Collection bundle) would be delisted on Steam on January 6th, 2023.
The eXceed series games and OSTs will be DELISTED from Steam on Jan 6th! We’ve almost completed the process of transitioning our titles back to their respective developers before Nyu Media shuts up shop for good.
The eXceed series are the last titles to go, but unfortunately the developer has dropped out of contact so we’re unable to hand over publishing to them. As such, we will delist the eXceed series titles from Steam on January 6th.
Hopefully the developer will get back in contact and continue selling the titles between now and then, but we can’t guarantee this will happen or if the titles will ever be sold on Steam (or anywhere else) again. Bottom line: if you’re thinking of picking up the eXceed series (great games, btw!!), now is the time to do it! Wishing a very happy holiday and AWESOME 2023 to all!
Steam Announcement – December 22nd, 2022
Downloads of the English language releases were previously available through Nyu Media from Gamersgate, GameStop, Desura, and The Capcom Store but were removed from sale on these platforms at varying dates. As of April 2023 some Steam download codes were available from various key reseller sites. The original retail releases of the games are also available though admittedly hard to find online.
About the Game
The human powers-that-be called for the purification of mankind and the eradication of vampires and ‘deviants bloodlines’ – those born of a mix of human and vampire. And so began massive purges of the deviants that were reminiscent of the ‘witch hunts’ of centuries earlier. Leading the genocide was the exorcist corps the ‘Gun Bullet Children’.
As the overwhelmingly large human armies began to obliterate every vampire and deviant community across the world, the opposing deviant armies sought to gather allies and rally back. Ria File is a half-human, half-vampire girl fighting on the side of the deviants as they embark upon a turnaround strategy, the ‘Siege on the Holy Land’. Their plan: to lay siege upon the humans’ ‘Holy Land’ and to destroy the Holy Lady Anhel who was the source of the human military power. This is a battle in which defeat is an option for neither army.
Featuring an addictive dual-polarity gameplay system, this amazing vertical shmup is sure to please any shooter fan. The polarity and color of your character can be changed to absorb enemy bullets of the same polarity while charging the special weapon in the process and doing double damage to enemies of the opposite polarity. Every bullet absorbed charges your special weapon for total destruction. With awesome music, beautiful art, and challenging stages, this game that put the eXceed series on the map and has everything you would want from a shmup.
