Konami’s self-professed ‘Competitive Mystery Simulation Game’ Crimesight will be removed from sale on Steam on February 27th and its servers shut down on May 1st. The news was shared on the game’s Steam Store page on January 30th.
Thank you for playing CRIMESIGHT. This service has continued to operate with the support of many users since its launch in April 2022, but due to various circumstances, we have decided to terminate the service on Monday, May 01, 2023 at 00:00 PDT.
Sales of Bundles ended on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 00:00 PST.
Sales of the Standard and Deluxe editions will end on Monday, 27 February 2023 at 21:00 PST.Online battles will not be available after the service ends. Also, the game itself won’t be able to play. Although the time left until the end of the service is limited, we hope you will enjoy it to the end.
Steam Announcement – January 30th, 2023
The game struggled to find an audience with just a few hundred active daily players during its launch window last April. A free play week last Summer only brought a few hundred players to the game before quickly trailing off to less than 50 daily players. Active player counts have frequently been in the single digits since the end of 2022.
For anyone now intrigued by a game they never knew existed (like myself), Crimesight remains available for $9.99 on Steam until February 27th but a farewell sale doesn’t seem likely. Thanks again to Serrated-banner9 for pointing out the news. I’ve added the date to the Watch List calendar and we’ll have a page up on the site later.
